"Kat" signs with A&M

On April 22, Krystal De La Cruz, Eagle Pass High School's starting pitcher, signed her National Letter of Intent to attend Texas A&M International University next semester.  "Kat" was celebrated along her parents, in at the Lecture Room while Coach Coca Ruiz, Tom Gonzalez and Assistant Principal John Byrne honored her past and future successes.

Byrne stated, "There are 1,096 districts in the State of Texas and roughly 8,000 high schools and only 1% of all high school athletes get to play at the next level, so it is an amazing accomplishment, young lady.  You should be proud of yourself and I know your parents, teammates and coaches are proud. Congratulations again on behalf of Mr. Moreno and the entire EPHS."
