On April 14, the Eagle Pass FFA Chapter traveled to Pearsall
for the Wintergarden District Convention. Representing the incumbent officers
for the 2014-2015 year are Alexis De La Garza as Wintergarden District president
and Colin Byrne as the Wintergarden District Chaplin. Congratulations to the
new 2015-2016 officers elected representing the Eagle Pass FFA Chapter are
Karina Garcia as the new Wintergarden District President and Shawnee Betancourt
newly elected Wintergarden District Chaplin. Albert Jimenez performed two songs
for his FFA Talent and was chosen to represent the Wintergarden District FFA
Talent at the Area X Convention. Albert composed one song himself and with a friend
as one of his performances. Awards for District Leadership Development Events
were handed out: First place in Junior FFA Quiz, First place in Agricultural
Issues, Second place in Chapter Conducting, Second in Senior FFA Quiz, Second
in Public Relations, Second in Chapter Farmer Land, and Third in Junior
Agricultural Skills. Congratulations to the newly elected officers!
