Wendy Maurer Named to Autism and Behavioral Board of Directors

Mrs. Maurer at EPISD's 1st early autism classroom, located at Kennedy Hall, has formally been invited to serve on the Autism and Behavioral Board of Directors for Region 20. Mrs. Maurer has graciously accepted to help advocate and share the hard work that is going on in our district and community.

She has released the following statement, "Early intervention is key for our children with autism. I have seen tremendous progress in each of our students using evidence based interventions in applied behavior analysis. I'm very blessed to have Ms. Ortiz and Mrs. Gleason on our autism team. I couldn't do it without their passion for our kids. We have trained and work hard to help our students. Working with our administration and parents have made this classroom successful for our students quality of independence."

Her passion for autism is influenced by her past, current, and future students. Most of all her son Carter who is also on the autism spectrum.

Mrs. Maurer will be presenting Early Interventions in Autism at EPISD's Parent Conference next weekend.

Congratulations Mrs. Maurer!
