This week, CC Winn would like to recognize football star, Carlos Tijerina.
He knows what he wants and works hard until he gets it, earning him his scholarship to play football for Sul Ross University.
Carlos continues to excel both in sports and academically.
He states, "It's different in college. Everyday you find yourself fighting for your spot to play in the upcoming game. There are no days off. The level of competition is bigger and you find yourself surrounded by faster and stronger athletes. There is no time for slacking off especially when playing a sport in college. Although coaches are rougher on you, you learn it's tough love. I've made friendships and met other student athletes from other parts of Texas. We all just want to do what we love which is play football, but in order to do that we have to be wise as individuals. Personally I feel myself growing into a better person and I'm more than grateful to do it here."
Carlos continues to make Maverick Nation proud!
The Mavs hope to hear more from him in the future as he inspires other future Maverick stars.
