Tuesday, April 24th, Mr. Laurence’s AP Environmental Science class from CC Winn High School went on a very special field trip.
The class traveled to the Eagle Pass Coal Mine, where they learned more about the agricultural aspect of the coal mines.
The students were informed about the strip mining, how the land was cultivated after it has been used, and how the effects of the coal mines have played a part in the saving of endangered animals. This was the first time in school history where any environmental science class has taken a trip to further their studies in their coursework.
WHS salutes the initiative to try to teach students through learning experiences and they wish the best of luck to the AP Environmental Science students on their test on May 24th.
