Monday, October 22nd, San Luis students, staff, parents and community members joined forces to make a difference in another person's life.
During the 6th annual Ponytails for Love event, nearly 50 participants stopped by to donate 8 inches or more of their hair in an effort to help children suffering from medical hair loss.
These hair donations will be turned into hair pieces that will be granted to children suffering from hair loss due to cancer and/or other hair loss diagnosis.
It is San Luis Elementary's goal to provide a foundation on which children can begin to rebuild their self-esteem and self-confidence.
At San Luis, the Cardinals fly into action to help others in need!
A special thank you goes out to San Luis PTO, San Luis staff, all the volunteer hair stylist, Ms. Ana Ortiz- Ponytails for Love Coordinator, and Norma Salinas-General Manager from TownePlace Suites by Marriott for their generous donations.
