March 15th and 16th, NHS was a great help to the Chavez Family by helping with a charitable cancer cause.
52 students were divided into three different groups at three different times and dates.
March 15th, 16 students attended the home of the family who was hosting the plate sale fundraiser. All the students contributed in cutting onions, tomatoes, bacon, and wood.
Saturday morning from 6am-11am, another group of 20 students gathered at the same house to peel hot boiling potatoes, cook beans, peel boiled eggs, make rice, and make the potato salad.
On the same day, other students helped out at the Maverick County Lake by preparing plates.
At the end of the day, the Chavez Family was thankful to the NHS sponsors, Mr. Randy Laurence and Miss Alejandra Cruz, for their tremendous help from the National Honor Society.
