World Down Syndrome Day is annually observed on March 21 to raise public awareness of Down syndrome, a congenital disorder caused by having an extra 21st chromosome.
On this day, people with Down Syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world organize and participate in activities and events to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down Syndrome.
Since this day falls during EPISD Spring Break, Eagle Pass High School decided to ring in the day early to celebrate their Eagles!
Friday, March 15th, the Eagles were treated to tasty cake and ice cream to celebrate their own Down Syndrome Day!
Go Eagles!
