Friday, April 26th, CC Winn High School's Chick-fil-a Leader Academy visited their local Chemotherapy Clinic Infusion Suite to decorate it with motivational canvases.
Back in December the members got together to brainstorm ideas for a spring project.
They then agreed that the Chemotherapy Suite was too dull for the patients to be in for hours and unfortunately had to stare at bare walls as they sat during their extensive treatments.
In their next meeting the members each decorated their very own canvas with an inspirational phrase they wanted the patients to feel motivated by.
The students visited and presented their canvases to the patients in the Infusion Suite and listened to speeches from various special guests.
The leaders were addressed and congratulated by the EPISD Superintendent, Mr. Gilberto Gonzalez and City Councilman William Davis who touched on the importance of Leadership. Students also heard from cancer survivors, Hospital Board Member, Ms. Rebecca Robinson, C. C. Winn Principal, Mr. Jesus Diaz-Wever and tMaverick Athletic Coordinator, Coach Eric Villasenor.
Thank you to Alma Martinez, the Hospital District Administrator, for this great opportunity!
The patients were thrilled with the donation, and personally talked with the students thanking them for their time and kind well-wishes.
