After Eagle Pass High School Student Council finished with their Hawaiian Luau Dance on Tuesda,y June 4th, they loaded up a vehicle with donated supplies and the sponsors made a second delivery to Casa Bethesda in Piedras Negras.
Casa Bethesda is an orphanage for special needs “children” in the outskirts of Piedras Negras, Coahuila.
The ages of the children range from 21 - 59 years old.
There are 14 males and 15 females and they are kept separate from each other most of the day.
In total there are 29 residents.
All came to Casa Bethesda as children and have spent most of their lives at the orphanage. There are 11 genuine orphans, the rest have been abandoned by their families.
When asked how old he was, one of the oldest orphans stated that he was five years old. Despite their age and appearance, they all believe they are children.
Pastor Omar A. Alvarez Romero is the director and responsible for the orphanage.
They really could use more help.
