WHS Analyzes Two Basketball Icons


On Tuesday, January 28, AP Language and Composition students at CC Winn High School paid homage to late basketball icon, Kobe Bryant. Students were tasked with writing a rhetorical analysis essay in which they compared Bryant's poem "Dear Basketball" and Michael Jordan's letter "Dear Basketball". They looked for specific devices shared in both texts to analyze the craft of writing and devices shared by both basketball icons.

Students showed projected final analysis sheets on document camera to peers. Peers then voted on essays that offered the best analysis of rhetorical devices identified in both pieces.
