CC Winn High School's Maverick Band continues to forge ahead in their
marching contest season. On Saturday, October 14th, the Mavericks
stampeded into the Texas Marching Classic and placed 2nd in their 5A
division and 11th overall.
Having left their mark at one competition, the band
thundered forward to compete for the first time ever at the Westlake Marching
Festival where they not only place 3rd in their division, but also
were ranked 6th in the Top Ten finalist list which is made up of
both 5A and 6A schools.
As the directors stated the band, “… went up against some to
the strongest 6A and 5A programs in San Antonio and Austin…” including state
finalists and not only held their own but… “even knocked some down!”
The Mavs are incredibly proud of the Maverick Band’s achievements
and their representation of our district.
