C.C.Winn High School’s Medical Billing & Coding class is working diligently on completing their externship hours.
Every hour they acquire gets them one step closer to experiencing what it’s like to work in the medical field. 
All of the students are required to obtain an amount of sixteen hours and above.
Throughout the course, the pupil performs medical billing duties that an employee would do under their supervision.
The students may participate in verifying codes/insurance, use of fax machine/ scanner, appointment scheduling of patients, appropriate medical terminology use, etc. Southwestern Medical Clinic, Fort Duncan Medical Center, United Medical Center- all are places located in Eagle Pass where these students go to attain hands-on career training.
