Mav Freshmen Create Foundation for Future

The Freshmen Pre-Ap English I students at CC Winn have been reading many pieces of literature including Mark Twain's The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.
They have worked diligently in creating their own book and analyzed many themes like family traditions, beliefs, authority, education, and language.
Students incorporated Huck Finn's examples of those themes with a detailed explanation, included a personal anecdote reflecting it, and compared or contrasted their lives with Huck's.

This project due November 13th was meaningful for students as they took the time to reflect and analyze literature, but they were also able to see how their lives are filled with endless opportunities and support.

These classes are definitely getting a strong foundation for what the future holds in advanced courses and college preparation.

Way to go, Mavs!
