Monday, March 25th, Mrs. Felan's 1st grade class at Darr came back from Spring Break and right dove into the world of Harriet Tubman.
Harriet Tubman was an American abolitionist and political activist.
Born into slavery, Tubman escaped and subsequently made some thirteen missions to rescue approximately seventy enslaved people, family and friends, using the network of antislavery activists and safe houses known as the Underground Railroad.
The Mavs watched a video on her life and were tasked with writing 4 facts about her life.
Way to go Mavs!
