Monday, March 25th, Mrs. Diamantina Galindo’s Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) Dual-Credit Class concluded their phlebotomy chapter.
This class is made up of 16 total students from both high schools.
The class had started on their phlebotomy chapter about 2 weeks before Spring Break.
They worked on venipunctures on one another and the following week they had volunteers go to the classroom. The phlebotomy chapter was a nerve-wracking yet exciting new experience for every single student.
Each student learned so much during those 2 weeks and completed a total of 20 venipunctures using 4 different methods.
These methods included using the finger stick, vacutainer, syringe and butterfly method.
This chapter was one of the many lessons the students had to go through to eventually become certified as a Medical Assistant.
