Thursday, August 29th, Mr. Zamora's 4th grade class at Seco Mines Elementary learned all about place value.
Place value is the basis of our entire number system.
A place value system is one in which the position of a digit in a number determines its value.
The Miners learned about 10 digit place value.
They also learned that place value helps them determine the value of numbers, and in the base-10 number system, each place has a value that's 10 times the value of the place immediately to its right.
