WHS's Sernior Soccer Team Aspire to Lead this Season

The WHS Lady Mavericks Soccer team is composed of 10 seniors; starting from top left is defensive players Victoria Hernandez, Ximena Castro, Cristela Vasquez, Captains Valerie Hernandez and Haziel Mota, followed by forward Ashley Garza, and Adamari Guerra as a wing. In the second row,is defensive player Miriam Perez, varsity goalie Lesly Carmona, and Alondra Peralta as wing. They have all been working extremely hard since the summer, during the breaks, and after school practices for the past three years and hope to make their senior year truly memorable. Attending the past two tournaments that took place on January 2nd through the 4th, and January 9th through the 11th, helped them obtain more experience and ball control for their upcoming district season. This being their last year being teammates the Seniors would like to pass on their knowledge and skills to the underclassmen teammates. They know they are looked upon to be the leaders and the role models of this team. The Maverick Nation wish nothing but the best of luck to them and the other district teams and are more than excited to see what the season has in store for them! Go Mavericks!
