Monday, September 24th, CC Winn Student Council Sponsor, Mrs. Dionni Olivares-Wueste and her Student Council Officers were invited to attend an organizational meeting hosted by Chick-fil-A Marketing Director Jackie Garza and Store Owner/Operator Juan Garza.
The StuCo representatives and their sponsor were treated to a delicious dinner over some stimulating conversation regarding the goals for the group and their service involvement with the school and community.
The Chick-fil-A Leader Academy is new to Eagle Pass, and is a national high school leadership program that provides students the platform they need to transform their schools and impact their communities.
This year, more than 27,000 students in over 40 states will develop their leadership skills and make an Impact through Action.
C. C. Winn High School's Leadership Class will be partnering with Chick-fil-A this school year and are committing to three years of working together and implementing their program with their Maverick students.
Over the course of the school year, Mrs. Olivares-Wueste will facilitate the students' leadership journey through seven monthly Leader Labs.
This is a video-driven curriculum designed to inspire students, and empower them to put the leadership principles they are learning into practice.
The 30 students participating in the Academy will execute three major service projects throughout the year, and are eager to kick off their calendar of events!
The momentum starts with our students! Mavericks Can, and StuCo Will!
