Tuesday, November 27th, Mrs. R. Moreno's 3rd grade class at Graves Elementary learned about heat and thermal energy.
Thermal energy is an example of kinetic energy, as it is due to the motion of particles, with motion being the key.
Heat is energy in transit, i.e. energy in the process of being transferred from a hotter system towards.
To see this in action, the class worked on the Chocolate Kiss Experiment.
Through the experiment, the students gained knowledge and hands on experience about how our own body can produce heat and how heat changes matter.
