Mavericks are all about helping the community and since November is not only the month to give thanks, but the month to give to others, they came together as one to give.
The week of November 12th-16th, C. C. Winn High School joined forces with Crossfit Eagle Pass to collect non-perishable items for the local food pantry.
Senior English teachers, Mrs. Camarillo, Mrs. Mercer, Mr. Rocha, and Mrs. Leal, and students worked together to make this charitable cause happen. In just a matter of days, the seniors collected a quite generous amount of nonperishable food items for the worthy cause.
The donations will be presented to Crossfit Eagle Pass by senior teachers, Mrs. Lori Camarillo and Mrs. Josie Mercer and received by Crossfit Eagle Pass owners and coaches, Gilbert and Talia Parral on Friday, November 16th.
The donated items will be taken to the local food pantry and will be distributed to various families in the community.
Winn teachers would like to express their gratitude to the students who made this generous donation possible.
In addition, C. C. Winn High School would like to thank Crossfit Eagle Pass for the opportunity given to take part in such a heartwarming cause.
