Cougars Measure Up

Wednesday, February 20th, Mr. Martinez' 3rd grade class at Sam Houston hit the great outdoors bright and early.
The class went outside to continue their investigation of climate and weather.
Mr. Martinez created his own tools to demonstrate students how we measure wind and rain!
He showed the students a rain gauge, barometer, thermometer, and hygrometer.
A barometer is a scientific instrument used to measure air pressure and a hygrometer is an instrument used to measure the amount of humidity and water vapor in the atmosphere, in soil, or in confined spaces.
Way to go Cougars and way to take this lesson above and beyond Mr. Martinez!
