Darr Decomposes

Tuesday, February 12th, Mr. Picazo's 5th grade class at Ray Darr worked on a lab over decomposition.
Decomposition is the process by which organic substances are broken down into a more simple organic matter.
The process is a part of the nutrient cycle and is essential for recycling the finite matter that occupies physical space in the biosphere.
The Mavs created a culture using a petri dish and collected germs from various areas around school!
Go Mavs!
