Tuesday, February 19th, the students in Ms. Cruz' English II Pre AP courses at CC Winn were tasked with applying their knowledge of meter, rhyme scheme, and other poetic devices by creating their own Shakespearean sonnet.
Students worked with each other to meet the ten syllable count required per line and make sure their sonnets remained focused on their chosen topic.
Through this activity, students are reinforcing their knowledge of poetry and clarifying poetic elements as they prepare for their English II EOC Exam which is now less than six school weeks away.
