Tuesday, February 5th, Mr. Cruz' Physics class at CC Winn tested their knowledge of velocity, acceleration, and displacement in time.
Their task was to create a mousetrap vehicle.
Students used various materials for the trap like old toys, CDs covered with balloons to help with friction, hot glue, screws, and of course, the mousetrap.
The objective was to create a fast moving vehicle that would be triggered by the pulling of a string through the mousetrap to rotate the axil and accelerate the wheel.
The various cars were timed and even raced against each other.
Students used their creativity and resources available to for this unique creation.
Although challenging, this project is one of the students' favorite as it gives them an opportunity to put their knowledge and skills to the test.
Great job, Mr. Cruz. Go Mavericks!
