Beowulf Analyzed at WHS

After completing their analysis of the epic poem Beowulf and learning all about the elements of an epic, Winn High Seniors in Mrs. Mercer's class wrote their first character analysis essay. 
Students were assigned one of the four major characters in the epic poem to write their essay on and were guided through the process of writing the analysis essay. 
They started by answering a series of questions about the character to use on their body paragraphs and proceeded to learning how to write their thesis statement. 
Using their essay as a guide, students created a body map of the character they analyzed. 
The final project was completed on Friday, March 1st and the body maps are now proudly displayed along the 000 block at Winn High.
