ECC Rings Down Syndrome Day

World Down Syndrome Day is annually observed on March 21 to raise public awareness of Down syndrome, a congenital disorder caused by having an extra 21st chromosome.
On this day, people with Down Syndrome and those who live and work with them throughout the world organize and participate in activities and events to raise public awareness and create a single global voice for advocating for the rights, inclusion and well being of people with Down Syndrome.
Since this day falls during EPISD Spring Break, ECC decided to ring in the day early to celebrate their students!
Friday, March 15th, ECC students and staff wore commemorative shirts to celebrate their very own Down Syndrome Day!
They also met outside and formed a circle where they blew bubbles and celebrated together.
