WHS History DC Revisits the New Deal

Ms. Dickerson’s History 1302 Dual Credit classes at CC Winn have been studying the Great Depression and Franklin Roosevelt’s New Deal Programs.
The Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation was part of the first New Deal that developed during the Great Depression to protect people’s money in the banks since many banks failed due to the Stock Market Crash in 1929 which led to the Great Depression.
The FDIC is still in existence today, so on Monday, February 25th, Ms. Dickerson had her students take a selfie with the FDIC plaque at local banks around town.
Ms. Dickerson incorporates how the history they learn in class also affects them in their daily lives!
