Tuesday, April 30th, the students in Mrs. Flores’ English II classes at C.C. Winn High School celebrated the end of April by reading the poem, “High School Training Ground” written by Malcolm London.
April is National Poetry Month and the students were able to review poetry elements by examining this narrative poem that sheds light on a teen’s overall high school experience.
Mrs. Flores encouraged the students to create their own version of this narrative poem by describing their own high school experience thus far or high school day/routine in general.
The best part was reciting the poems in class and inspiring their own classmates.
Mrs. Flores is very proud of her students.
