Tuesday, October 17th, C.C. Winn High School students in Mrs. Flores’s English II class read the poem, “We Wear the Mask” written by Paul Dunbar.
After discussing the symbolism and historical references of the poem, they immediately put their creative skills to work by creating their own mask project.
They used magazine cutouts to display how society views them on one side, and how they view themselves on the other.
The students enjoyed analyzing the poem, but had even more fun decorating their own personalized mask!
