Eagle Pass High School would like to congratulate Jorge Emiliano Garcia for winning 1st place in Lincoln Douglas Debate at the UIL Academics District 29-6A on March 24th held at Eagle Pass High School.
Emiliano went through 3 preliminary rounds of debates to get to the semi finals and finally onto the finals.
This was no small feat as each debate lasts up to 45 minutes against the sharpest minds in the district.
He beat out UIL giants Alexander and United High Schools.
Emiliano will be competing at the Regional meet at UTSA in April.
Emiliano is being coached by Dolores Rodriguez.
