Tuesday March 27th, the Eagle Pass FFA Veterinary Science team made their way to Eagle Pass Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital to prepare for their competition on April 4th at Pleasanton, Texas.
The purpose of the Veterinary Science Career Development Event is to promote college and career readiness by providing opportunities to develop technical knowledge and demonstrate practical skills in the field of Veterinary Science.
Participants demonstrate professional ethics, decision-making, business competency, communication and problem-solving skills.
Eagle Pass FFA would like to thank Dr. Levi Hancock and his assistants for their time and patience.
The participants were able to see how he prepares for surgery, what type of tools he uses and what tools they will need to be familiar with for their practicums at the competition.
They were able to identify different kind animal breeds, apply a muzzle and Elizabethan collar, and Dr. Hancock also showed them how to do conversions when dealing with medication for the animals.
This hands on experience really helped out the Veterinary Science team in their preparation!
Thank you once again Eagle Pass Veterinary Diagnostic Hospital for your support with our local FFA Chapter!
