Tuesday, September 11th, the 1st grade students in Miss Maldonado's class kicked their day off with some silent reading.
Miss Maldonado's little Bulldogs are becoming accustomed to their new elementary school routine and loving every minute of it.
Reading silently improves students' understanding because it helps them concentrate on what they are reading, rather than the pronunciation of individual words.
When we read silently, we can form mental pictures of the topic being read and discussed.
