Tigers are Electric

Friday, November 2nd, Mrs. Salinas' 4th grade class at Graves Elementary were introduced to the power of electricity.
The students learned about open vs. closed circuits and the difference between series and parallel circuits.
Open circuit means the wires are cut off so there will be no current flow, but there is voltage.
Closed circuit means the wires are connected so there will be flow of current, but there is no voltage.
In a series circuit, the current through each of the components is the same, and the voltage across the circuit is the sum of the voltages across each component.
In a parallel circuit, the voltage across each of the components is the same, and the total current is the sum of the currents through each component.
Way to go Tigers!
