Giving Thanks had never been more educational than the delicious feast prepared and enjoyed by Mrs. Duran's 3rd Period AP Biology/Anatomy and Physiology class over at Winn High.
The class is studying enzymes, metabolism and nutrition and they literally brought their knowledge to the table, the Thanksgiving Feast Table.
They gobbled until they wobbled!
The class planned a delicious Thanksgiving luncheon where each student shared a recipe for a Thanksgiving side dish.
They included information about macromolecule counts, such as calories, carbohydrates, saturated/unsaturated fats and fiber for each of the recipes they shared.
In addition, they submitted a revised recipe in which they made their dish healthier based on their previous calculations.
Thursday, November 15th, the students shared their dishes with each other in the special luncheon planned by Mrs. Duran.
What a fun, delicious, AND educational way to give thanks!
