WHS Homecoming Pep Rally

Thursday, November 1st, C. C. Winn hosted their annual Homecoming pep rally on the grounds of the San Juan Plaza, as tradition serves.
The crowd was treated to multiple student performances from Ray Darr, Memorial Junior High and Winn High School, ranging from amazing dances and cheers to fantastic musical talent.
In the midst of coaches and athletes addressing the fans and large crowd that night, the Mavericks treated special guest, Mayor Ramsey English-Cantu, to an unexpected presentation.
Administration called the mayor up on stage to receive a one-of-a-kind ID badge created to show appreciation for all of his support over the years.
“I was honored to be recognized by CC Winn High School at this year’s Homecoming activities. I was officially made an Honorary Lifetime Maverick,” Mayor Cantu said.  “Thank you to Principal Mr. Jesus Díaz-Wever and the Winn administration for this special moment and awesome surprise.”
Student Council would like to take this time to thank the City of Eagle Pass for allowing them to hold their Homecoming parade and pep rallies using these facilities and seating to help provide the Maverick Nation with a fun and safe way to recognize their varsity football team and student organizations.
