As the weeks continue to fly past us, students in Ms. Cruz’ English II classes at CC Winn High School are becoming unmotivated by the routine STAAR drills.
So, in order to keep students motivated and reinforce what has been learned, Ms. Cruz opted to allow students to engage in group writing to end the week.
Friday, February 22nd, students worked with a partner and went through the writing process.
Students were given chart paper and on it together they deliberated the prompt “Is romantic love more important than friendship?”
As students deliberated, they were able to come up with ideas and real world examples that can be used in the next step of this activity which will entail producing their essay’s final draft.
Ms. Cruz cannot wait to see what final arguments the groups will present.
