The English II Pre-AP students in Ms. Cruz’ class at CC Winn were tasked with analyzing Edgar Allan Poe’s short story The Pit and the Pendulum.
Students had to research information on the Spanish Inquisition as a form of pre-reading to better understand the story.
Thursday, February 21st, students partnered off and together they worked on summarizing the story’s plot, describing the setting, identifying important characters, and explaining the effect the story’s perspective plays on the story.
While many students created posters on construction paper and poster boards, others opted to create digital posters using Google slides.
Ms. Cruz is proud of the analyses that were turned in because this will help prep students for their literary analysis essay.
