Did you know that keeping your tires inflated properly can improve the fuel efficiency of your car and save on gas?
Wednesday, February 20th, members of the C. C. Winn Student Council partnered up with Mr. Esquivel's Auto Mechanics class to check the tire pressure of the cars in the staff parking lot during 2nd period.
Students filled out little reminder cards for the teachers with an accurate reading of each tire, and then placed this notice on the windshield of the cars.
The staff members also have the opportunity to swing by the auto mechanics shop to get their low tires filled during their conference hours any time this week.
For every 1 psi drop in pressure in your tires, your fuel economy can drop 0.3 percent.
Also, every liter of petrol saved keeps 2.5 kg of carbon dioxide out of the atmosphere.
StuCo encourages you to check your tires, and do your part for our environment by striving to be an energy efficient driver.
