Graves Celebrates Down Syndrome Awareness Month

October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month, a chance to spread awareness and education about Down Syndrome.  During the month of October, Graves celebrates people with Down Syndrome and promises to make people aware of their abilities and accomplishments. One of the ways Graves is educating their students is with their Counselor, Ana Morales. On October 6th, Mrs. Morales talked to students about the power of ACCEPTANCE.  She met with all Graves students and promoted anti-bullying & Down Syndrome Awareness using YouTube sensation MattyB's video "True Colors" where he speaks up and out for his younger sister who has Down Syndrome.
Graves wants everyone to remember that it's not about recognizing disabilities, it is about CELEBRATING ABILITIES!

"We are LOUD & PROUD TIGERS who advocate for ourselves – give us love, support and encouragement. HEAR US ROAR!"
