Mavs Break Down Writing

September 10th - 14th, during their English I class, the students in Mrs. Torres-Hernandez' class at CC Winn were busy at work completing a group project to review essay writing.
Students broke down their essay writing steps into a project that they worked on together.
Each group was assigned a group leader who was responsible for making sure the rest of the group completed designated items on time.
Students were able to converse and build on each other's ideas in order to respond effectively to their second expository writing prompt of the year: Write an essay in which you explain whether failure can strengthen a person.
Students were asked to use CHELPS to plan out their examples and be able to pull from a bank of ideas.
They used examples from history, current events, literature and even their personal lives.
Students were able to complete their assignment and were then asked to carry over their knowledge to complete a timed writing on their own.
Mrs. Torres-Hernandez would like to congratulate her students on a job well done!
