Eagles Search for Sweet Status

Tuesday, September 18th, the students in Ms. DeLuna's Pre-AP Chemistry class at Eagle Pass High School conducted a chromatography lab.
Chromatography is a way to look at complex mixtures by separating them into their components. The separation of a mixture into its components is a physical process; that is, because the components of the mixture are not chemically combined, they can be separated by physical means.
The students were tasked to separate the pigments of the dyes used in M&M candy to determine if they are pure substance or mixtures.
Go Eagles!
