Wednesday, February 6th, people around the world rang in the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Pig.
Chinese New Year is the Chinese festival that celebrates the beginning of a new year on the traditional Chinese calendar.
Mrs. Gonzalez' 1st grade class at Seco Mines Elementary joined in the celebration and learned that the Chinese New Year Celebration last for 5 days.
The also learned that the food served at the feast is always a tradition for the family.
So, as a Miner family, they feasted on rice and egg rolls!
