The CDC recommends meningococcal conjugate vaccines for first year college students living in residential colleges. As a result, colleges across the state of Texas have made it a requirement for admission.
Every year, the school district provides this service for all graduating seniors for the low cost of $10.
WHS Head Nurse, Mr. Palos meets with all seniors to talk to them about the importance of this vaccine.
This year, a total of 141 students received their vaccine.
At this point, there are ten students pending the process but will be given the opportunity to get the vaccine administered to them at a different location.
If students are pending the shot, they can still be referred to another location to receive their vaccine as long as they are able to provide their own transportation.
WHS would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Palos and Ms. Curi for their commitment their students.
Each year they go above and beyond to get as many students serviced.
Great job,Mavericks!
